I am like most Americans, I have my opinion on how the past year has been, both personally and politically. I am amazed at the amount of good stuff coming out of the Senate since the "lame duck" session began like what did they put in the water?
The repeal of DADT, the ratification of the new START Treaty, the Food Safety Bill, 9/11 Hero's Funding Bill (4.2 billion version) the "financial package" agreed to by the President, the House and the Senate. The majority of this is good stuff that I never thought would happen (like most of you I hate the extension of the tax cuts for the millionaires and billionaires).
Then there is the insane acts like these follow to the bottom......
http://www.politico.com/... as this shows Michelle Bachmann was appointed to the House Intelligence Committee,
Bachmann once suggested that Congress should investigate whether Democratic lawmakers were pro- or anti-America, and she's been a cable TV favorite because she's known for colorful sound bites.
Members of the Intelligence panel receive classified briefings in a secure conference room in the Capitol, and are sworn to secrecy about most of the committee's activities.
"If you're looking for media and controversy, that's not the committee to be on," said a Republican familiar with the discussions about Bachmann's appointment.
Bachmann, on her Facebook page, said she was "honored to have been selected by Speaker-designate John Boehner to serve on the House Intelligence Committee. As a mother of five biological children and 23 foster children I pledge to do whatever I need to do to keep your family, my family, and the United States safe from harm."
When did she have time to be the mother of 23 foster kids, and how much mental damage might she have inflicted on them in the days or weeks she had them? I know some really nice people in their 60s who took in foster children in the state of Georgia and they had rules about how many they could have at any one time, some stayed for days and some stayed for months and many of them still come "home" to see "Mom and Pop" as adults and for the most part the kids they "helped" during their many years of being "foster parents" have led to a very large extended family.
For some reason I just can't see Michelle Bachmann in this same type of role, maybe it's just me. I just hope her mental condition is not "contagious".
Excuse me as a veteran of this nations military service, who thought appointing this woman to a committee that has access to our nations most critical intelligence and briefings on really highly classified material?
As she showed the nation with this inaccurate statement about President Obama's trip
Michele Bachmann loses "Lie of the Year" again
After getting trounced last year by Sarah Palin, we really thought she had a shot this time around.
But once again, Michele Bachmann has been been stiff-armed by the readers of PolitiFact's annual "Lie of the Year" competition.
Her whopper:
"The president of the United States will be taking a trip over to India that is expected to cost the taxpayers $200 million a day."
It just wasn't big enough. She'll have to settle for runner-up.
The 2010 "Lie if the Year" title goes, instead, to:
ObamaCare is a "government takeover" of health care.
Rep. John Boehner, R-Ohio; Rep. C.W. Bill Young, R-Fla.; the Republican Party of Florida; Lt. Gov.-elect Rebecca Kleefisch, R-Wis.; "and others" take home the prize. They won 43.9 percent of the vote. Bachmann garnered just 19.2 percent.
This woman quite frankly scares the hell out of me, she should not be on any committee with access to our nations secrets, she tells lie's about lies, who will have any idea on what she would do with the "truth"?
I have not been writing as many "diaries" lately, I have my own issues to deal with at times, and this has been a rough few months for me, but I am alive and well and am grateful to my fellow Kossacks for allowing me to say what I am thinking, some read it and comment, most ignore it and many share their opinions and allow me to have a window to the world.
Due to my medical conditions, I seldom leave the house, some call it "hibernating", some veterans call it in the "bunker", bottom line is I have PTSD and usually don't play well with other people. The power chair for my cardiac conditions also makes it difficult to get out, and I probably use that excuse to often to just stay home.
Thanks to our nations taxpayers I have the best medical care available thru the Veterans Administration, which I wish that Congress has passed in some type of form in a public option, in the opinion I have that every American should have the same type of health care that they provide for me and my family, and the rest of this nations veterans.
I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year if I don't post anything before then.
