Holy crap, the sky is falling! (What?)
Wed Aug 20, 2008 at 07:28:04 AM PDT
Conservatives are finally voting for the candidate they're being told to! A single Zogby poll has been released! The primaries aren't even over yet, and we're already doomed! DOOOOOMED!
Seriously, people. Breathe into a paper bag or something. All this hand wringing is not only unnecessary, it's completely counterproductive.
Dumbfounding Republicans Dumbfound With Their Dumbness (Again)
Tue Aug 12, 2008 at 11:01:46 AM PDT
What the hell is wrong with Republicans? House Speaker Nancy Pelosi echos Obama's position on offshore drilling (i.e. limited drilling might be prudent if it is coupled with a comprehensive look at our energy situation) and Congressional Repugs act like they won. Nevermind that her caveats were so strong that if the bill were presented Republican Reps would never vote on it, the fact that their demands were met by Mrs. Pelosi with a resounding "maybe, if..." was cause for much chest puffing on the part of the know-nothing Republican leadership.
Make Easy Money to Donate to Democratic candidates
Tue Aug 05, 2008 at 05:55:59 PM PDT
As with many of you, the slowing economy and high energy prices have really taken a toll on me financially. I've donated money to Democratic candidates for various offices in the past and planned to do so this year as well. When I looked at the finances, however, I realized that there really wasn't any extra money hanging around. I basically had to choose between gas in my car and food for my family or donating to a political cause and it's clear which one I had to choose. So, to earn some extra cash to be able to donate to Democratic candidates, not necessarily Barack Obama, but also the many great Senate candidates, I began looking for an easy, quick way to make some extra dollars here and there.
Donate on Barack's Birthday
Mon Aug 04, 2008 at 05:04:31 AM PDT
I put up a version of this last night but it fell right off the list when someone else put up another just afterwards. Thank you to those who donated already!
I am not sure of the etiquette (I'm relatively new here), but I'm giving it another shot before I go off to work out at the gym. Please give me something to celebrate about when I get back? And let's pay to keep "Pockets" on the air.
A Birthday Present for Barack (update)
Sun Aug 03, 2008 at 08:57:10 PM PDT
I posted this last night and it didn't stay up for very long (another Happy Birthday diary, posted a few minutes later, go a lot more response), so I am trying again today, because today is when we need to donate and donate again, so we can get another of those great videos from David Plouffe! This isn't just a greeting card, it wants to be a money bomb . . .

Dig Deeper - Donate Day!!!
Thu Jul 31, 2008 at 10:57:23 AM PDT
Okay, I'm pretty darn broke. BUT, I just remembered that old 1st marriage wedding band that is pretty darn big and heavy that is just gathering dust in a drawer. So, I'm heading to the local jeweler to sell it. I've never done that before, but they have a sign up that says, "We Buy Gold." So, what the heck! All proceeds to get donated, today.
I challenge everyone, no matter how tight it is, can you find a way to give MoveOn, Barack Obama, and Sierra Club even 5 bucks each?
And, how about sharing some new or old ideas for raising money for the cause. Emphasis on what can ya' do today to DONATE TODAY?

I've designed some cool Obama T-shirts. Now what?
Wed Jul 30, 2008 at 12:53:41 PM PDT
I'm hoping some marketing-saavy Kossaks can help me with a project. I've designed a couple of T-shirts that I'd like to manufacture and sell to raise money for the Obama campaign. But have a lot of questions on the best way to do this..........
Remember Downticket Netroots Dems
Fri Jul 25, 2008 at 11:28:38 AM PDT
President Obama is up 24 points in California and he leads in many other places. While not being complacent, it's OK to consider donating to various downticket netroots Dems. Consider the "Orange to Blue" list on ActBlue for instance.
I am grateful for Obama, BUT let's make sure he has a HUGE majority in SENATE and HOUSE, so that the deadlock is fully broken and and we can change America's direction without Republican obstructionism.
That means THE SENATE!!! Send more NETROOTS DEMS to the Senate!!!
I mean -- do you REALLY want to hear "We don't have the votes..." again? Or do you want to see Reid kissing "Rape Gurney" Joe Lieberman's butt next year?
Do you really want Vichy-Vashie BUSH DOG 'Dems' to hold the whip hand?
If you are like me and that's the very last thing you want President Obama to face... don't forget to show the love to some DOWNTICKET NETROOTS DEMS -- especially the candidates for the SENATE.

The filings are in, and it was 54.2 MILLION!
Sun Jul 20, 2008 at 10:34:06 PM PDT
The actual monthly filings are finally up at FEC.gov, and guess what? Obama's total receipts weren't 52 million, they were 54.2 million. Total expenditures were 25.7 mil, so cash on hand is (get ready for this) ~71.7 MILLION.
By contrast, John McCain had total receipts of 22.2 million, and total disbursements of 27 million. His Cash on Hand is 26.8 million.
Of course, McCain has to spend all of his before the convention is over, and will get ~84 million in federal funds after that. And then there's the RNC and DNC. More below...
Please Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is
Fri Jul 18, 2008 at 04:47:38 PM PDT
We turn on our PCs and Macs, hit the Internet Explorer Icon, and go immediately to DailyKos, HuffingtonPost, etc. to catch up on the latest campaign developments, recent polling results, and speculation as to who Barack will choose as his running mate. Some of us even get inspired enough to post a diary and stimulate healthy debate. But as the old saying goes, "Talk Is Cheap."
We were supposed to swamp McCain in the money race
Thu Jul 17, 2008 at 11:16:23 AM PDT
We were supposed to swamp McCain in the money race, but we're barely keeping pace.
From MSNBC's First Read
When Obama's cash reserves are combined with the DNC's, the party has about $92 million to spend right now -- a few million less than John McCain and the RNC.
From TNR's the Stump
But as First Read reminds us, the relevant metric is really Obama + DNC vs. McCain + RNC, and in that calculus it's likely to be about even.
The GOP $queeze play, time to pour it on the Neocon$!!
Thu Jul 17, 2008 at 06:46:42 AM PDT
Obama doubles McCain in fund raising but the RNC is raising boat loads of money from the super rich!!!
Last week, McCain reported raising more than $22 million in June, which was his best month of the year. Together, the McCain campaign and the Republican National Committee began July with about $95 million in the bank.
and on our side
The Obama campaign and the Democratic National Committee ended June with a combined total of $92.3 million in the bank. The figure represents a notable fundraising jump, especially for the DNC.

I have been very outspoken of late about Obama's FISA vote and giving money to the ACLU instead. I thought, at the time, it was the right thing to do. I think Obama would agree with me actually. However, now is the time to open up the old coffers for the Obama campaign again.
I have your $2.3K hostage. Here are my demands:
