What does Richardson's endorsement really mean?

Mon Mar 24, 2008 at 07:07:48 AM PDT

I am an old pragmatist, and maybe I am looking at this wrong. Everyone is all excited about Governor Richardson endorsement of Senator Obama for President. Granted it might have done Obama more good before the Texas contest, but what has the endorsement really done, let's take a look at it.

Senator Obama has stated numerous times that super delegates should vote with their voters, preference, and in New Mexico they voted for Hillary Clinton, so by this theory he is taken an endorsement from a super delegate that should be voting for Hillary by Obama's rules, why?

I realize this opinion is not going to be well received and most people here know I have pretty much stayed out of the diary wars, but it has come time for me to express my thoughts. Remember opions are like assholes, everyone has one and most people don't want to hear them.

We were promised a campaign by Senator Obama that was about change, no more politics of the old, a new open bipartisian style of government. Is this really a progressive way to govern?

The Canadian mess, yes Hillary did it to, but she didn't lie about it, she has always played politics as a blood sport, you play to win, not place, placing in politics is not like a horse race, it pays nothing, you play to win.

Senator Obama claimed on TV on Friday that there was no meeting between his staff and the Canadian govt, yet it turns out there was, but instead of focusing on the fact it happened everyone started screaming Hillary did it to, but she isn't the one who promised a "new way forward".

Let's be honest, the 527s are going to have a field day with Rev Wright between September and November and people are not going to like it, it's fine to support a man you care about as Senator Obama has Rev Wright, but it may very well cost the democratic party the White House in January 2009.

I spent my entire life in the Army and at the Postal Service the most integrated employers in the nation. I have met many people of all races that are complete azzholes and others that are very dear friends, share a few firefights and lonely nights in a foxhole, the persons skin color doesn't matter, can you depend on him to protect your azz?

I feel Governor Richardson's endorsement of Barack Obama may very well back fire on his message that Super delegates should vote with their states or districts votes for the presodential nominee, if they will take an endorsement from a super delegate that should by Senator Obama's definition be voting for Hillary, then he has basically endorsed that super delegates should vote for whichever candidate they feel will win the White Housein Jan 2009.

As bad as Hillary is, there is nothing new that the Republicans can throw at her, she will beat John McCain in November, right now I am not certain Senator Obama can, I think the Rev Wright story will be the paper cut the republicans needed to beat him.

Maybe it is time for the party heads to get together, this one way or another, Hillary on the top of the ticket and Barack as VP  and after 8 years of Hillary  Obama will have 8 years and we will control the White House, the House and the senate, we can get the changes we want, with John Mccain in the White House vetoing every bill Congress sends him, it will be worse than the Bush years.

I know this will not be a popular diary  but the facts are the facts.
